Cross-Country Skiing

Bruksvallarna is the very heart of Nordic Skiing in Sweden. The Nordic Ski Center winds its way through lush valleys and high mountains with no less than 300 kilometres of groomed trails. The network of trails is laid out so that you always have world-class cross-country trails near you. In addition, there are 450 kilometres of marked natural trails. You’ll find excellent conditions for training, exercise and recreation.

The entire trail network is well sign-posted with distance markers, maps and rest stops. Find your own favourite and enjoy your skiing to the fullest. You can explore new trails every day, maybe with the help of the ski bus, or just home directly from the slopes. The options are many and varied – Funäsfjällen has something for everyone: families with children, those who like exercising and the world’s elite athletes.

Every year, the training and competition season for the world’s elite cross-country skiers starts and ends in Bruksvallarna. The Bruksvallsloppet kicks off the season in November and the Fjälltopploppet Race ends it in April. April is the Swedish springtime, when the surface of the snow gets crusty, delighting the many skiers who enjoy their top skiing experiences then. It’s the time of year when you can ski almost anywhere in the mountains. With Funäsfjällen’s warm days, cold nights and easily accessible high-altitude expanses, it’s hard to find a better place to ski so freely.

Bruksvallarna’s many snow guns guarantee an early start to the season.
